As the contest is winding I have to say that I am getting tired. Maybe its the weather or the marking or the weather and the marking. I am finding fewer videos to watch after the flurry of videos that came online at the beginning of the month. I am impressed with the new videos. Some of the production quality is really amazing. At the same time I find that some of the second videos that I thought would be improved were not. One or two groups that look like they are heavily involved in video in their school don't seem to have listened to some comments made about their first video, eg. poor sound quality. There are always lessons to be learned. Number one lesson with video is that even if the it is a visual medium, it is the sound that makes it watchable. If the sound is not good the video is not good! I understand sometimes it is difficult because some cameras don't have an external mic plug. Sometimes recording outside can adversely affect the sound... wind, traffic noise etc. Maybe in these cases the videos shouldn't use recorded sound from the video but do voice overs in a controlled quieter setting.

This is not to criticize but it would sure help some videos.
